Create, edit, and download AI Artifacts

Artifacts are private files produced as part of a completed chat task. Use them when a result needs to be downloaded, edited, shared through your device, or reused as source material in a Workspace.

Available artifact formats

  • CSV for tables, inventories, comparisons, and importable records.
  • XLSX for styled, multi-sheet workbooks with filters, frozen headers, and explicit formulas when requested.
  • DOCX for structured reports with headings, summaries, lists, tables, links, footers, and page numbers.
  • PPTX for concise professional presentations with metrics, tables, editable shape charts, source links, and optional speaker notes.
  • Markdown for structured reports, briefs, notes, and documentation.
  • Plain text for portable, unformatted content.
Ask for the exact format and structure you need. Generated Office files never modify an uploaded original. Macro-enabled, legacy, embedded, and externally connected Office content remains unsupported.

Ask for an artifact that is ready to use

Describe the file contract in the prompt: filename, format, audience, column order or section structure, and whether the result should include citations. For spreadsheets, name the sheets, units, formulas, and date format. For presentations, name the audience, desired slide count, and decision the deck should support.

LLMBase should complete the Artifact before claiming the task is done. If source evidence is missing or the output was truncated, that limitation should appear in the answer rather than being hidden in an incomplete file.

Manage the Artifacts library

  • Open Artifacts from Chat navigation to find files created across your chats.
  • Download any format. CSV, Markdown, and text can also be edited with conflict protection; generated Office files are download-only in the Artifact library.
  • Copy an Artifact into a Workspace to process it as a new Workspace file.
  • Delete an Artifact when you no longer need its private attachment record.

Artifacts on iOS and Android

In the iOS and Android apps, saving uses the native share sheet so you can choose Files, Drive, another compatible app, or a nearby person. Cancelling the share sheet does not publish the file.

Computer working files are not shown in the Artifacts library. When a task uses Computer, ask it to finish the reusable result as an Artifact.

Frequently asked questions

Can I edit an Artifact?

Bounded CSV, Markdown, and text Artifacts can be edited from the Artifacts library. XLSX, DOCX, and PPTX creation produces a new downloadable file; in-app Office editing is not included yet.

Does copying an Artifact to a Workspace move it?

No. It creates a new Workspace file and leaves the original Artifact in place until you delete it.
